Behavioral Skills/Tools:
- Read a body liberation article daily
- Advocate for weight inclusive care with your doctor and to not be weighed!
- Use a heating pad or weighted blanket and notice if it provides you w/ any comfort
- Reduce weight and shape checking
- Throw out the scale!
- Buy clothing that fits your body and get rid of the clothes that do not
Cognitive Skills/Tools:
- Develop 5 compassionate statements and say them to yourself daily
- Shift your language from saying “I am…” to “I’m having a rough body image day”
- Re-write the thoughts you have about your body as if you were speaking to a friend
- Write out your body’s perception of how it feels to not be accepted by you
Emotional Skills/Tools:
- Say, “I feel bad about my body, and I also feel….” What’s the emotion you are feeling?
- Identify the physical sensations that go with emotions to build up body awareness
Perception based Skills/Tools:
- Make a list of your top 10 perceptual triggers
